Who Are
We?
Works of Service began in August of 2002
and completed 9 small projects that year. In 2003 we completed 11 projects and
in 2004 our volunteers completed 40 projects, blessing 35 separate individuals
and families. In 2005 we completed 65 projects. We currently have numerous opportunities to bless other
residents. It’s not just
about completing projects, it’s about giving hope, touching hearts and changing
lives in the name Jesus.
Works of Service was
incorporated in October, 2004, a Board of Directors was appointed and we
received our 501(c)(3) non-profit tax status in March 2005. This enables us to seek a
broader spectrum for support while maintaining a clear focus on our vision, purpose,
and objectives.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to assist the members of the church family and community
in the Northeast Ohio area by providing minor home repairs and other
home improvements and maintenance services. We hope to minister to those
who may be financially or physically unable to perform necessary repairs
around their homes. The ministry may be able to assist in other ways
also. We are developing a follow up
ministry that will assist the homeowner with other physical or spiritual
needs and introduce them to area agencies or churches for assistance.
Our Objectives - Utilize the Works of Service ministry team of capable people with a passion to help the oppressed in our communities
- Rotate volunteers so that they serve one evening or weekend a month.
- Provide necessary repairs or services to selected homeowners.
- Homeowners who have not identified with a local church will receive:
- An NIV Bible and/or a book introducing them to Jesus Christ
- Information about area churches
- A follow-up visit
Our Wish List - Increased participation among the area church family.
- Donations or reduced cost supplies from local companies and businesses.
- A strong base for referrals of needy homeowners.
- A strong financial base to better serve the needs of our communities.
